Innovative Curriculum

Our students receive in-depth instruction on traditional core subjects combined with our innovative, pioneering Liger Learning Model which requires students to apply their knowledge and skills in the real world.

Real-World Impact

The Liger Learning Model looks outwards and uses the real world as a classroom and teacher. We involve the community in our students’ curriculum as a learning source, a beneficiary of student projects, and a source of mentoring. Our interdisciplinary approach focuses on entrepreneurship, leadership, and service-based learning.

Personalised-Learning

We are committed to our students success at Liger and post-graduation. Learning experiences at Liger are tailored to each student, allowing them space to explore their individual interests and ambitions. Individual student plans are created for each student every year based on their academic potential and interests designed to lead them to their greatest path of success.

Location

The Liger Model was designed for locations where students can interact with local communities and the natural world. In our project-based learning curriculum, students can easily monitor the impact of their projects with consistent visits to track metrics of success.

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

Throughout the world, there are many problems that, if seen from the right perspective, can be improved and helped significantly. Throughout my time at Liger, I have been able to discover and form my own views on these problems, and use them to positively impact the community around me. Within many explorations we have had the opportunity to help fix different issues around Queenstown, such as road safety, food sustainability, and much more.

Liger has shown me that education isn’t just about learning, it helps you to connect, grow your social and leadership skills and collaborate with others throughout everything that you work on. It has shown me the type of community and culture that you can make within a team, to achieve your goals and strive for success.

I chose Liger for a very specific reason. Not because of its beautiful community, not because of its hands-on learning style and not because I got to make an impact on Queenstown’s locals, although they are major bonuses. I chose Liger because it will open up my future. Within my 2 full years at Liger I’ve already been on a journey worth my whole high school experience. I’ve been to Cambodia, worked with experts and businesses, gotten to know as well as learned from 14 different teachers from all over the world and participated in 8 separate explorations in which we all made a huge impact on Queenstown’s community. This is what’s so special about Liger, it exposes me to any career path and by the time I graduate I will be far more prepared for adulthood than what is expected by any.

I want to be a psychologist because it is one of the jobs that is most needed for Cambodia. A lot of people are facing mental issues, such as depression, but not a lot of them are educated enough to understand that having mental problems doesn’t mean you are crazy. As a change agent, I want to become a psychologist that can help people understand about mental issues and give them the services that they need. What I love most about Liger is that it isn’t focused on who is the best or who is the worst. It is about working together. Everyone is different and we all have the potential to learn and grow.

The only way we will make changes that will cause an improvement in Cambodia is through education. In my fourth year at Liger, I used the knowledge that I learned from Liger to help my own community through education. I had the opportunity to create my own exploration and my team decided to create a local library which allowed local students or anyone interested in reading to borrow a book to read. We got donors willing to give books and by the end of the exploration we had created libraries in many of our provinces. Liger is more than a school. It is a small community where it isn’t just about learning, but it’s also about life.
